GCSE results day 2024 at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School

Students across the country are set to receive their GCSE results today following the summer examinations and staff are on hand at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School to help students choose their next steps.
Nigel Bielby, Executive Headteacher:
“Results day is one of the busiest and most important days in the school calendar. Today we will be sharing the results of the 225 students who graduate high school and move on to a range of exciting opportunities in education, training and employment .
Initial analysis shows that the results today are outstanding and a real reflection of how hard each and everyone of our students have worked over the past five years. Overall, more than three quarters of all students have achieved a good or better pass in both English and Maths. 60% of all students have achieved a grade 5 to 9 in all subjects with the figure rising to 75% for grades 4 to 9.
At the top end of the grade scale, our students achieved 93 separate grade 9s and 186 or 25% of all grades are in the highest range of 7,8 and 9. Overall, all grades 5,6, 7, 8, and 9s are up on last year showing just how well our year 11 students have done.
Many of our staff have taken time out of their summer break to be here this morning to celebrate with students and to help them to work out their next steps. I want to send out a massive congratulations and well done to everyone”
